We have now had our second adoption here in Colorado. The adoption of CASH our longest resident here was amazing!!! He has moved to Littleton and this was just more than we could ever ask for. For those who dont know..Cash was a severly abused tiny 4 pound American Eskimo. He reseambles a pom but they are far apart in behaviours and they are a way differnt type of spitz dog. Cash's story is sad..he has had his face kicked in resulting in two fractures to his jaw , He has a couple of broken ribs that have mended somewhere in hispast. The worse injury was that he was molested..Yes..I know its sick but it happens more than we care to say. As a result Cash had sever trust issues andwould bite. He would not let us handle him for three days after he came into rescue. It has been a two year rehab for him. We dont just take dogs in.. We try to make them better dog citiszens. We strive to find the perfect home..This is a small private rescue. We dont do quantity we do quality . We dont lie about our dogs. we try to match dog to owner so that these dogs NEVER end up in a shelter or being at risk for death. Cash was one of the few lucky ones. THis is not a money maker beleive me. It is a labor of love.. In CA. they are killing poms at an extraordinary rate. I cant save them without funding. It costs on average 150 bucks per dog..And that is if they are not sick. They are brought in, they are evualated and then they are trained and loved. And then we look to find forever homes. I have no idea how this rescue will do here in Colorado. But If this last week was any sign..I think we will do just fine.. We still have FINLEY loking for a home and in June I will return to Ca. to pick up some more dogs.. Please take a look we are trying to help the less fortuanate.. We love it here in Colorado and am hoping that the rescue will floursih.. thank you so much.. Michelle and the poms  of THE POM E RANCH. ALso like our page on Facebook.. also we have a page for our resident rescue amassador..GIMLY THE RAGAMUFFIN POMMIE> thank you again!!

Just so everyone who knows the rescue gets the updates. We are almost totally out of the california house and into the Colorado house. It has been an amazing trip. WE are taking some dogs with us. We are taking in a dog that a soldier that had been deployed had to leave at the pound. WE are going to see if we can locate the soldier. If not the dog will be put up for adoption. WE are out of the DURANGO Colorado area and Farmington NM> we will hopefully be able to start getting dogs out for adoption by the first of the year. Please if you are in the Ca. area please contact our friend rescue. POM TO THE RESCUE as they have many sweet little dogs looking for homes. THere are more poms in need. In case you would like to donate you cna thru POM TO THE RESCUE's site. THank you for being our web watchers....we look forward to continuing on with saving small dogs.!!

For anyone looking to adopt a dog.. in Ca. there are still POMS in need.. POM TO THE RESCUE is still operating and has several sweet dogs looking for homes. WE will open up the new rescue in COLORADO hopefully by early 2013. It has been a great success that we saved so many from the Cali area. WE love out adopters our volunteers and the people that watched THE POM E RANCH grow in rescue. It is sad to leave California but we know there are more dogs out there that need our help. You can watch the antics of the poms still with us on Facebook under THE POM E RANCH. If you are looking for a pom a schiperkee a german spitz a toy american eskimo please research all the rescues. PLEASE ADOPT and DONT SHOP for your next family friend.SO many are still dying in the shelters. If you cant adopt please foster if not that please donate. Please dont breed your purebred pom we are watching them die everyday. As it is in rescue we see so many horror stories. If you have to give up your dog try to get it into a reputable rescue. Again ..I thank each and everyone of you that have watched us and have adopted from us and have donated to us.. We look to being bigger and better in 2013 and helping the SO cal POms and spitz get to the great Colorado state..Thank you again from all of us at the POM E RANCH. Toki,Zoey<Gimly Cash and Pippin..... we love poms and we hope you do too!!

As we have been off line due to the move...and we are still moving...Allie the aussie got her forever home...THat leaves us TRISTAN and NIKKI both looking for homes hopeully here in California before we move onto to Colorado. It will take us a bit to get moving once we start again in Colorado. I for one can only hope that we will be as effective in Colorado as we have been here in Cali. WE leave behind our sister rescue POM TO THE RESCUE and I know that Lisa will continue to save as many poms as she can.. Please support our rescues during our tranistion time!Thank you for following the Pom E Ranch and our mission to save as many small little dogs as we can...

If they are not adopted here in Cali we will be adopting them in Colorado. As our intentions is to keep the rescue up and running in COlorado...we may be a little bit behind..but we will still strive to help the ever increasing dog population..Also we leave our bestest Friend in rescue Lisa Of POM TO THE RESCUE. We hate to leave her behind...but lives change... we move to a bigger more open facility and look forward to being able to save many more lives...Please keep track of us...we are also on facebook under THE POM E RANCH and will document all of the moving with the pomms!!!
